IMPORT TAXES & CUSTOMS DUTIES POLICY
Import taxes, customs duties, and all related fees and levies that may apply to international orders are not included in the product price or shipping charges displayed on freebowler.com. These charges are determined solely by the customs authority of the destination country and are the full responsibility of the customer as the importer of record.
By placing an international order with Freebowler, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms set out in this policy.
What Is Not Included in the Price
The prices displayed on freebowler.com for international orders include the product price and international shipping charges only. The following are expressly excluded and are not collected, pre-calculated, or guaranteed by Freebowler:
- Import duties and customs taxes
- Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), or equivalent consumption taxes levied at import
- Tariff surcharges or trade-related levies
- Customs brokerage fees
- Port handling or clearance charges
- Any other government-imposed levy applicable at the point of import
Why These Charges Cannot Be Pre-Calculated
Import duties and related charges are set by each country's customs authority and vary based on the destination country, applicable tariff code, declared value of the shipment, current trade agreements, and import regulations in force at the time of importation.
Freebowler uses HS Code 95069990 for all shipments. However, the final duty rate applied is determined by the destination customs authority and may differ from any general estimate based on this code.
Any indicative customs duty figure shared by Freebowler or its sales team prior to purchase is provided as a general reference only, based on average rates applicable at that time. It is not a binding estimate, a quotation, or a guarantee of the amount that will be assessed at customs. Actual charges may be higher or lower depending on circumstances outside our control.
Charges Are Subject to Change
Customs tariff structures, import duty rates, and trade regulations are subject to revision by governments at any time. Given the current global trade environment, tariff structures across many countries have been revised significantly and with short notice. These changes apply to all shipments in transit or pending clearance at the time the revision takes effect, irrespective of when the order was placed or dispatched.
Freebowler has no advance knowledge of, and no control over, any change in customs laws, tariff rates, or import regulations in any country. A customer who purchased a product when a certain duty rate was applicable cannot hold Freebowler responsible for a change in that rate that occurs at any point before, during, or after shipment.
Customer Responsibilities
The customer is solely responsible for:
- Paying all applicable import duties, taxes, and related charges directly to FedEx or the local customs authority at the time of import
- Ensuring prompt payment to avoid storage charges, delays, or return of the shipment
- Checking current applicable duty rates with their local customs authority or FedEx prior to placing an order
- Providing any documentation required by customs for clearance
Freebowler strongly recommends that all international customers contact their local customs authority or FedEx in their country before placing an order to confirm the current applicable duty rates for HS Code 95069990.
When You Receive a Customs Bill From FedEx
Upon arrival of your shipment at the destination country, FedEx will notify you of any customs charges assessed by your country's customs authority. These charges must be settled directly with FedEx before the shipment is released for final delivery.
- Payment must be made promptly to avoid storage charges or the shipment being returned
- Freebowler does not receive any portion of customs duties and has no visibility into how individual assessments are calculated
- Whether your shipment is in transit, at customs, or already delivered, all customs charges remain your responsibility as the importer
If Your Customs Bill Appears Unusually High or Incorrect
If you believe the customs charges assessed are significantly higher than expected or have been incorrectly applied, we recommend the following:
- Contact FedEx directly in your country and request a detailed breakdown of how the duty was calculated
- Share your original purchase invoice, the declared shipment value, and HS Code 95069990
- Ask FedEx whether the assessment can be reviewed, reassessed, or corrected under the applicable customs regulations of your country
- If you believe there has been a misclassification or error, request a formal review through FedEx's customs dispute process
Freebowler is unable to intervene directly in customs assessments, dispute calculations on the customer's behalf, or communicate with customs authorities in any country. FedEx is the appropriate and most effective party to assist with any review or dispute.
If Your Customs Charges Changed After Purchase
If your order was placed at a time when a certain duty rate was communicated or generally applicable, and you have subsequently received a customs bill that reflects higher charges due to a tariff revision or regulatory change, please note the following:
Customs tariff changes can take effect at any time and may apply to shipments regardless of their original order date. Freebowler has no control over, and no advance notice of, such changes. In the event that duty rates have increased due to government policy changes after your order was placed, Freebowler cannot be held liable for the difference.
We recommend contacting FedEx directly, sharing your original purchase invoice and order date, and requesting clarification on whether the revised rate has been correctly applied to your specific shipment. FedEx may be able to clarify the calculation and advise on any available remedies under your country's customs laws.
